History of Association
In early 1980, a handful of Gujarati families from Harrisburg, York, Lancaster, Hershey, and Grantville Pennsylvania, put the foundation thought of Gujarati Samaj. With a common goal to keep the Gujrati language, culture, and tradition alive. These families gathered and celebrated festivals and traditions at a host house or nearby public facilities like the e HARI temple or church. in 90's community rapidly grew and large-scale celebrations of festivals and cultural events were organized by the association leaders and volunteers. Same Gujarati Samaj is now reorganized as the Harrisburg Gujarati Association of Central Pennsylvania - HGAofCPA, a nonprofit community organization.
